Under the Banyan Tree: Open Air Cinema

In view of the current haze situation, the Under the Banyan Tree Screenings of the films, Pinocchio (Friday, 21 June, 8pm) and The Aristocats (Saturday, 22 June, 8pm) will be moved indoors to the Gallery Theatre located at the basement level of the National Museum of Singapore. The Gallery Theatre can accommodate up to a maximum of 247 people hence, admission will be granted on a first-come-first-served basis. Families are encouraged to have their dinners before the movie screening as food and drink are not permitted indoors. This solution will ensure that the movie screenings carry on as planned, but in a safe and controlled environment.

Based on an Italian fairytale written in 1881, by Carlo Collodi, Pinocchio is one of the most beloved animated feature films to come out of the Walt Disney Studios. It is a story of a wooden puppet boy who is carved by an old wood-carver, Geppeto, and brought to life by a blue fairy. Join Pinochio on his journey to becoming a real boy, and sing along to great musical classics such as When You Wish Upon a Star, Little Wooden Head and Hi-Diddle-Dee-Dee.

In the heart of Paris, a kind and eccentric millionaires, Madame Adelaide Bonfamille wills her entire estate to Duchess, her high society cat, and her three little kittens Marie, Berlioz and Toulouse who will retain the estate until their deaths; after which, her fortune will be inherited by her butler, Edgar. Edgar plots to remove the cats from their inheritance, but his attempts are futile as an alley cat, Thomas O’Malley, guides Duchess and her kittens to safety.
